Anne O’Sullivan Obituary - In the Oak Ward of the South East Palliative Care Centre at University Hospital Waterford, Anne O'Sullivan passed away calmly and peacefully on January 25, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. The community of Carlow Town is in mourning over her passing. The legacy that Anne leaves behind is one of love and fond memories. Anne is well-known for her compassion, commitment, and unwavering support towards others. Patrick and Kathleen, Anne's parents, as well as her brothers Paddy and Christy, all passed away before she was born. Those who were closest to her, including her devoted spouse Aideen, her devoted daughter Tracey, her grandchildren Ella and Harry, and her siblings Thomas, Kathryn, Tony, Libby, and Helen, will miss her terribly. All of Anne's relatives and friends, including her son-in-law Chris, her brothers-in-law, her sisters-in-law, her nephews, her nieces, and other relatives, will miss her presence.
The selfless dedication that Anne had for her family and the community was the defining characteristic of her life. She exhibited love and compassion for everyone she knew, and she was a tower of strength and support for those around her. The legacy of love and generosity that Anne left behind will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Anne will be laid to rest on Sunday at 124 JKL Avenue, beginning at four o'clock in the afternoon, and prayers will conclude at eight o'clock in the evening. Friends and supporters are asked to pay their respects at this location. On Monday morning, at 10:30 a.m., a funeral procession will depart from 124 JKL Avenue to make its way to the Church of the Holy Family in Askea, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. St. Mary's Cemetery will be the location where Anne will be laid to rest following the funeral mass.
Instead of sending flowers to the family, the family requests that donations be made to the South East Palliative Care Centre in honour of Anne's compassionate temperament and unwavering dedication to assisting those who are in need. Anne's commitment to helping others extended beyond her immediate family and into the wider community. A longtime supporter of ONE, members are being asked to attend Anne's burial while dressed in uniform to pay tribute to her legacy of selfless service and devotion to the community. Anne O'Sullivan deserves to be laid to rest in peace, and her memory should be cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
