John Celestino Obituary - The death occurred on Friday of John Celestino, who served as a regional executive for CNHI newspapers in the states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York. He was 63 years old.
Chief Frank Previte of the Lewiston Police Department stated that Celestino, who resided in Lewiston, New York, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a gun. At eleven thirty-five minutes past the hour, the Artpark called the police to report that there was a person who was unresponsive inside of a parked car in the parking lot of the venue.
Celestino was in charge of the newspaper operations of three different newspapers in the state of New York: the Niagara Gazette, which was located in Niagara Falls; the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal; and the Plattsburgh Press Review.

According to Donna Barrett, the president and chief executive officer of CNHI, Celestino is an accomplished and highly valued executive at the company.
The statement made by Barrett was as follows: "John was a shining star for our company, and we are devastated." The success that he had with the newspapers in his region was largely due to the positive energy that he exuded. He was able to bring out the best in everyone on his team, and I never once heard him comment negatively on any of the members of his team. It was a wonderful man who was also kind and thoughtful, and he was completely committed to this business.
During his career in the media, Celestino held executive positions in advertising, circulation, and marketing at the Philadelphia Inquirer and The Daily News, Philadelphia Metro, The Press of Atlantic City, and Brainworks Software in Sayville, New York.
