Marin Lacson Obituary, Sadly passed away on January 25, 2024, Barrington high school student, Cause of Death (Hit by Train)

Marin Lacson Obituary - On Friday evening, a heartfelt vigil was held in honor of a young woman who had been struck and killed by a Metra train on Thursday morning.


Marin Lacson, who was 17 years old, passed away, and students from Barrington High School returned home on Friday with heavy hearts. It was possible to speak with grief counselors at the school.


On Thursday, the teenager was traveling through the thick fog on her way to school when she was struck by the train.


At the vigil, which was held at the Barrington Campus Life Center, friends came forward to pay their respects one by one, their eyes welling up with tears and their hearts breaking. They discussed the qualities that made Lacson incomparable.


"She loved everyone around her, and she was so nice to everyone, and she would make you cheer up if you felt bad," according to one participant.


"She just chose to be nice to people, no matter who they were or what situation they were in," another person commented.


In addition to being a standout on the lacrosse teams of both Barrington High School and Second City, Lacson was a junior at Barrington High School.


CPD reports that a girl was struck by a Chicago police squad car in the Fernwood neighborhood crash.


Lacson's teammates and friends are in utter disbelief as Metra and Barrington police investigators investigate the crossing to determine what took place on Thursday.


Isabella Benton, a fellow student, and member of the lacrosse team. "Basically everyone in the program at some point has been on a team with her," she said. "She's just so nice to everyone, and always made everyone feel welcome."


It was stated in a message sent out by Barrington School District 220 that "the student was walking to school when the student was accidentally struck by a train on Route 59 and Main Street."


The coroner for Lake County stated that Lacson inexplicably failed to notice or hear a second train while she was waiting for the first one to pass.
