George Emerson Obituary - We extend our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of George Perciville Emerson, Sr., who resided in Chester, Virginia, and passed away on January 31, 2024. Leaving his beloved Mildred by his side, George did so in a manner that was both reassuring and comforting. It was in the year 1952 that George and Mildred tied the knot in Chatham, Virginia. George Sr. and Bonita, the couple's two children, made the decision to make Chester, Virginia, their permanent home.

His sisters Myrtle Casey, Alice Emerson, Nellie Berry, Dean Yeatts, Eva Riddle, Elva Cox, Fannie Bailey, Mary Herndon, Patty Hughes, Annie Allgood, Mary Wray, and Myrtie Allgood, as well as his brothers Edward, James, Henry, Glen, John, Robert, and Irey Crowder, all passed away before George Emerson. His parents, James and Bessie Emerson, were also among those who had passed away before him.

His children, Bonita Emerson Smith and George Emerson, Jr., as well as his grandchildren, Carrie Emerson Coyner, Amy Emerson Smith and Josh, Megan Emerson Carson and Luke, his great-grandchildren, Preston and Alexis Warnock, Hayden, Mason, and Delaney Coyner, Caroline and Logan Carson, Ruby and Alice Smith, and a large number of nieces and nephews, are among those who are able to carry on his legacy. Thirty-five years were spent by George working for Hercules Incorporated. After that, he took over the management of a landscaping company and managed it successfully for almost twenty years. He had a deep affection for his beagles and was also a passionate gardener and hunter.
