Larry Lewis Obituary - Barbara Goodman, his wife of 38 years, and his sons Benjamin and Larry Jr. (Katherine) are the only people who will remember Larry after his passing on January 23, 2024. Larry was 57 years old when he passed away.
His granddaughter Lydia Goodman, his sister Deborah (Tim) Gartner, his sister Tracy Curley, and his sisters-in-law Pat Ellis and Mary Sue (David) Curley are among the people who are left behind after his passing. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry Goodman was preceded in death by his parents, Valarie (Brown) Goodman, his sister Loretta Fairbanks, his niece Shayna, his twins, his grandparents, and a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry joined the United States Air Force in 1985 and was assigned to Hill Air Force Base in Utah, where he fulfilled the role of Crew Chief on the F-16 fighter jet.
Despite working other jobs, he worked hard to pursue a career in firefighting after receiving an honorable discharge from the military. In the summer of 1994, he was finally able to make his dream come true.
The ability to help other people was the thing that brought Larry the most happiness in life; it was the work that he had done throughout his entire life. He served the department in a variety of capacities, including as a firefighter, driver, paramedic (he graduated from the spring 1996 medic class), and captain near the end of his career.
Larry took his retirement on October 21, 2022, the day that his granddaughter was born, after having served for a total of 28 years. In the years following his retirement, he made the most of every opportunity to spend time with his loved ones, particularly his devoted Pomeranian companion Addie, with whom he shared his enthusiasm for cooking and activities that took place outside.
Furthermore, while volunteering at the White Bear Lake Food Shelf, Larry found great pleasure in playing the game of joker. Larry celebrated getting clean for the fourteenth time on October 6, 2023. Beginning in the spring, there will be a private memorial service for the family.
